2022 ROUND-UP

This year has been incredible for skateboarding and we are humbled to have played a small part in supporting the community. Here are a few of our highlights…

  • Hosted the National Championship over 2 weekends

  • Announced a National Skateboard GB Team of 10 skaters

  • Created 5 new paid jobs in skateboarding

  • Trained over 250 skateboard coaches around the UK

  • Supported UK social skate organisations to access National Lottery funding of £20,000

  • Developed a talent pathway, aka The Pipeline Project 2.0

  • Created new features on the MySkate app with over 100,000 monthly uses

  • Ran the Virtual Championships with 100+ skaters (with Skiddle)

  • Launched the ‘Survival of the Sickest’ with 3 events and 200 skateboarders

  • Delivered the only UK Skateboard Photography masterclass with MPB.

  • Launched the Cruiser award; a progression award for early beginner skateboarders

  • Released funding guidance for social skateboarding projects and skateparks

  • Supported more than 70 skatepark or skate community projects around the UK

  • Launched a funding support offer for skate community groups with Crowdfunder

  • Upgraded Kaset Skatepark alongside VIY

  • Talks, research and advocacy; exchanging learning, good practice in partnership with loads of great orgs

  • Won the Sports Business Awards Partnership of the Year 2022 with Habito

  • Gained Sport England funding for grassroots skateboarding, complementing our UK Sport funding
