Coach Development Lead role appointment at Skateboard GB

We are happy to announce that Amber Edmondson will be joining Skateboard GB as the Coach Development Lead.

Amber has experience running skateboarding projects in a variety of socioeconomic and global contexts using skateboarding as a vehicle for community and youth development. She has worked for organisations such as Free Movement Skateboarding and Skateistan and founded and manages New Wave Skate UK running inclusive skate sessions for marginalised genders and the LGBTQIA+ community.

Amber will start her role in December and will lead on SBGB’s Coach Development Offer including planning and delivery of 'Get Rolling' and our new coaching programme to be launched in 2023, as well as the ongoing development of adaptable coaches and coaching in skateboarding.

Amber is passionate about making learning accessible and supporting the development of adaptive, creative coaches who make a real difference to the skaters they work with. 

Upon her appointment Amber said “I’m excited to drive forward skateboard coaching in the UK, using my experience working with skaters from all walks of life and my knowledge of how learning works to create an inclusive, engaging and effective Coach Development Programme through Skateboard GB.”
