JOB OPPORTUNITY - Skateable Spaces Development Officer

We are recruiting for an exciting new role: the UK’s first Skateable Spaces Development Officer at Skateboard GB, the National Governing Body for skateboarding. The role is funded by a mix of Sport England funding and a new commercial partnership with Samsung.

We need someone who can bring fresh perspectives to the development and improvement of skateable spaces across the UK: from improving outdoor public skateparks; supporting indoor skateparks; and advocating for and facilitating the development of new town centre ‘skate friendly’ spaces, ‘legal DIYs’ or other temporary or more permanent volunteer-built projects, and skateable installations and sculptures.

We’re looking for someone with brilliant project planning and communication skills. We are open-minded about the mix of relevant experience and knowledge – which could be from planning or construction professions or trades, community organising and/or local skatepark campaigning and/or a wide range of other relevant work, educational or life experiences that will help us create new spaces for skateboarding and maintain and develop existing ones.

They will also represent Skateboard GB directly in number of strategically important national and regional projects.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a combination of relevant experience and skills, alongside a passion for and understanding of skateboarding.
