Competition and Events Manager Appointment at Skateboard GB

Skateboard GB are happy to announce the appointment of Richard Gowers in a brand new role as Competition and Events Manager.

Richard’s role will be to build and lead an effective competition structure in the UK, including the National Championships and regional events for the Olympic skateboarding disciplines of Street and Park, as well as supporting other and existing events & competitions in the UK.

Based in Devon, Richard has a passion for board sports. Having owned his own skate shop he saw the importance of supporting local riders and facilities. During this time he started running and being involved in competitions which has led to him dealing with sports bodies at an international level.

Richard will start at the end of February and will focus on shaping, supporting and delivering a new skateboarding competition structure in the UK and will be responsible for the efficient management of all elements of the national competitions and other Skateboard GB events.

Richard commented on his recent appointment “I am really excited to be joining the Skateboard GB team in this new position. I am really passionate about event management and plan to use my experience to help develop the skateboarding competition structure in the UK”.
