Lucy Adams appointed in progressive new role for Skateboard GB

Skateboard GB are happy to announce the appointment of Lucy Adams as Progression Project Lead.

Lucy has had an amazing presence in the UK skateboarding scene for over 20 years, as one of the most high profile female skateboarders out there and through her hard work to help transform the landscape of British skateboarding as a whole. Most recently Lucy was the Chair of Skateboard England and was a guiding force to improve grassroots skateboarding through various projects, as well as recently being appointed as an ambassador for IWG Women and Sport.

Lucy will start her new role in May, working with the skateboarding community to create the structure and environment for talented skaters to thrive and reach their potential in a way that complements the culture of skateboarding.

Skateboarding will make its debut at the Olympic Games in Tokyo this summer, cementing the need to identify and nurture the incredible talent there is in the UK. Last year Skateboard GB was awarded UK Sport Progression Funding and the appointment of Lucy will be the first stage in the strategy to develop a structure for talented skateboarders.

Lucy commented after accepting the new role “I can't wait to start this really exciting role with Skateboard GB to support our Nation's talented skateboarders to thrive and in turn inspire future generations to get involved. Working alongside Skateparks and the skate community, the Progression project is looking to develop a pathway for aspiring and skilled skateboarders that help them reach their potential."
