You can't have missed the intense media interest created by Skateboard GB’s team launch last week.

Skateboarding is a thriving lifestyle sport with a young, diverse and growing consumer group with high interest from the media, as clearly demonstrated with Skateboard GB’s announcement of the team who are hoping to qualify for the Olympic Games in 2020.

The sport has been included in the Olympics because it is exciting, accessible and engages with young people. The increased profile this brings to skateboarding gives you a fantastic opportunity to raise your profile, create brand awareness and generate new customers within the youth and adult market in the UK.

As a response to being part of the Games and the need for a specific qualification route for GB skateboarders, Skateboard England have created the National Skateboarding Championships. The event is taking place in April 2019 over three days at the Graystones Action Sports skatepark in Salford where the top male and female skateboarders from the UK will compete to see who is crowned champions in Street and Park.

The Championships will be shown across the BBC Sport worldwide digital platforms, including the Red Button, App and website, in addition to being streamed on YouTube and other social media. It will be keenly watched by the 750,000 skateboarders in the UK as well as others who are intrigued by this sporting phenomenon that will feature in the world's greatest sporting event in 2020.

Skateboard England are looking for commercial partners to help us achieve our aims of promoting and representing skateboarding to a wider audience, as well as making this exciting and high profile event a success.

We're at the start of an exciting journey as we look to expand on the increased profile and opportunities that the Olympic Games will provide. Do you want to be a part of that journey? Come with us to help shape our future and the future of skateboarding in the country.
