The Get Rolling Coaching Course costs £200 per person.

• One year Coach Membership with Skateboard GB, which provides you with public liability insurance to coach anywhere in the UK.
• Accreditation as a Skateboard GB Coach Member
• Listed on the Skateboard GB’s skateboarding coach’s database
• The right to coach in Skateboard GB award programmes!
• Info, support and access to Skateboard GB resources

Yes, we do. We can accommodate a minimum of 10 maximum of 15 places. Please contact admin@skateboardgb.org for more information.

• eLearning- All participants must complete all 8 of the online modules through the Moodle Course. A Moodle link will be sent to each participant once you have booked your place.
• Safeguarding- In addition, we require everyone to have completed and sent a copy of their Safeguarding certificate to admin@skateboardgb.org at least 24 hours before attending.
Anyone who does not do this, may not be allowed to attend the main course.

If you don’t have a safeguarding certificate dated within the last three years, we have been recommending this one through NSPCC as a good example, but other are CPD certified safeguarding courses can be found online.

Yes we can, as long as your certificate is dated within the last 3 years, we can accept this.

An automatic link is sent to you when you book onto the course. If you can’t see this in your inbox, check your junk folder, if its not there either, please contact admin@skateboardgb.org and they can resend you your link.

On average, it takes around 3 hours to complete, but this doesn’t have to be in one go. You can mark each module as complete and come back to it as and when you need.

The minimum age is 18 years old

Anyone wishing to take course must have a basic ability to skateboard: Ability to stand, stop, turn and push a skateboard with confidence are essential

If you can’t attend for any reason, you should contact admin@skateboardgb.org as soon as possible. No refunds can be given, but we’ll aim to offer you a place on another course.

If time is against you, try and complete as much of the eLearning modules as you can as this will provide a bit of context for the topics the tutor will touch upon on the day. We can accept your safeguarding certificate within 7 days of the course.

Post Course FAQ’s

If you have attended the face-to-face part of the course, completed your Moodle and provided a safeguarding certificate, certificates are usually issued via email 7 days after the course date.

A certificate can only be issued if you have completed all of the 8 modules through Moodle and you have provided a safeguarding certificate dated within the last 3 years.

Once you have completed the course, we will set you up with a Skateboard GB account and send you a link. Along with the safeguarding certificate, we ask all of our members to provide a basic DBS check.
You can upload your DBS to your account under the ‘Background Check’ tab along with your safeguarding certificate under the ‘safeguarding tab’ or alternatively email a copy to admin@skateboardgb.org
Once we have the above documentation, we can waive the membership fee and apply your coach membership. Please do not pay for anything as the £50 membership fee is included in the cost of the course.

Yes, it is. The £50 membership fee is included in the cost of your course. Please do not pay for anything. SBGB admin will be able to add your membership once we have uploaded your safeguarding certificate and basic DBS check to your Skateboard GB account.

We have a 90-day deadline to add your membership.

The cost of the coach membership is £50 per year. You will receive an email a month before your current membership is due to expire, to let you know your membership is up for renewal.

We’d recommend completing an Emergency at Work First Aid course. Have a look online and you should be able to find a range of courses in your local area.

The maximum coaching ratio we recommend is 1:15, however with younger children lower is better.

The SBGB logo CANNOT be used for anyone as promotion or to display an external partnership with SBGB, unless SBGB have agreed this prior.
The ‘Skate School Membership’ allows for us eof the SBGB in some circumstances

Our Cruiser Award Programme is aimed at beginner skateboarders who wat to learn to skateboard, providing young people and adults the essential foundations to enjoy skating safely.
Everyone who undertakes the Cruiser Award will be taught the 6 fundamentals of skating and each stage will receive a progress card (which provides info on how to practice that particular skill) and a sticker – which they can put on their board or helmet.

Skateboard GB have launched the first Nationwide Skateboard Coach Directory for Skateboard GB accredited coaches. The online system will allow the public to input their postcode and search for a skateboard coach in their area.
We're partnering with BookWhen (the leading booking software platform for coaches in the UK). As part of the launch they are offering every Skateboard GB coach 1 month free on the platform to see if it works for you.

Insurance Questions

No, not yet, you are only insured once we have added your coach membership to your Skateboard GB account.

The person who has the coach membership must be a British citizen with UK address.
